40ft Full Side Access Container for Sale, 9ft 6in High Cube

The 40ft full side access container for sale here is a one-trip high cube with an opening wall. The whole 40ft flank swings back on hinged door leaves, and the usual cargo doors at the 8ft end still work exactly as they would on a standard box. Outside it runs 40ft (12.19 m) long, 8ft (2.44 m) wide and 9ft 6in (2.90 m) tall, giving roughly 2,600 cubic feet (74 cubic meters) of dry interior. The side opening itself measures about 38ft 10in (11.84 m) with no center post to work around. If you load with a forklift, store long stock, or need to see everything you own at a glance, this is the layout that earns its price.

Jobs a full side access container does well

  • Parts and tool stores where crews pull items all day and cannot dig past stacked pallets
  • Forklift loading straight into any bay along the wall instead of shuttling down a 40ft aisle
  • Long material such as pipe, lumber, trim, gutter and duct that will not turn the corner through end doors
  • Trade counters, farm stands and event stalls that open wide by day and lock flat at night
  • Workshops where daylight and airflow across the full bench length actually matter
  • Mower, ATV and small machine storage, driven in over a ramp at any point along the side
  • Growers and nurseries moving trays in volume during a short, busy season
  • Site stores that have to be emptied in one afternoon at the end of a contract

The usual alternative is a standard 40ft high cube with a roll-up door cut into one side. That retrofit buys you a single opening of eight or ten feet, it has to be framed, sealed and painted, and any modified unit falls outside our 30-day return window. This container gives you thirty-eight feet of opening from the factory. Two 20ft boxes are the other common answer, and they are easier to place on a tight lot, but you finish with two small footprints, two sets of end doors and nothing that will hold a 30ft length of pipe. Where the work involves repeated picking and loading rather than filling a box once and closing it, the handling time saved is the whole argument.

Build, condition and what is included

Construction is all Cor-Ten weathering steel, corrugated panels on a welded frame with cast corner fittings at all eight points, so the unit can still be lifted by crane or handled by a container spreader. The side doors carry three locking bars on each leaf, the end doors two on each, all with weather seals and lockable handles. Underfoot is 28 mm marine plywood, roughly 1-1/8 in thick, carried on steel cross members. Eight vents are fitted to help move air and limit condensation. The CSC plate is rated to a maximum gross of 24,000 kg (52,910 lb) and the unit itself weighs about 6,200 kg (13,670 lb), which is worth knowing if you plan to crane it into a back lot.

One trip means the container was built, loaded once and shipped, so paint is fresh, the floor is unmarked and the door seals are still soft. Expect a few transit scuffs rather than the pitting and patched plate you would find on a used box. Paint color varies between production runs, and we confirm the exact specification and finish of the unit allocated to your order before delivery. We can fit a steel bunded floor for an extra charge if you intend to store drums or fluids. One practical note on siting: a full-length opening wall only behaves if the container sits level, so set it on railroad ties, blocks or piers under the corner castings rather than straight onto soft ground.

Delivery, payment and returns

Delivery is a flat $550 anywhere in the continental United States, quoted at checkout, and orders typically land within one to three weeks. Placement is by tilt-bed truck, so a 40ft unit wants 100 to 120 feet of straight, firm approach lined up with where the container will finish, plus about 14 feet of overhead clearance for wires and branches. Soft ground, a tight gate or a sharp turn is worth a phone call before you order rather than on the day.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay and Google Pay through Stripe, along with bank transfer by ACH or wire. We do not collect sales tax. Standard unmodified units carry a 30-day return with free return shipping; anything we cut, coat or fit out for you is excluded.
