20ft high cube container for sale, one-trip and IBC ready

A 20ft high cube container for sale gives you the footprint of a standard 20ft box with an extra foot of headroom: 9ft 6in (2.9 m) on the outside instead of the usual 8ft 6in. On paper that sounds like a detail. On the ground it is the difference between sliding a caged tote in with room to spare and finding out the cage will not clear the door header. This unit is one-trip stock, which means it was built for export, carried a single load of cargo, and came off the ship for sale rather than spending a decade in service. At $4,400 it suits farms handling liquid inputs, contractors storing tall plant, and anyone who wants near-new steel without commissioning a custom build.

Jobs this 20ft high cube handles well

  • Bulk liquid storage, with sixteen 275-gallon (1,000 L) IBC totes fitting inside on the floor
  • Agricultural inputs, feed additives and sprayer chemicals kept locked and out of the weather
  • Pallet racking two tiers high, where a standard-height box only gives you one
  • Tall gear such as ladders, scaffold frames, mast attachments and boom sections
  • Site storage for tools and consumables on construction and utility jobs
  • Household goods during a build or a move, with door access all year
  • A clean, dry shell for a later workshop, gym or hobby fit-out

Most buyers land here after weighing three options. A standard-height 20ft costs less but gives up the clearance, and once the racking is in you cannot get it back. A 40ft high cube doubles the storage for well under double the money, though it needs far more straight approach for the truck and a lot more flat ground, which rules it out on tight sites. Renting looks cheap in month one and stops looking cheap somewhere around month fourteen, and there is nothing to sell at the end. When the volume you need fits inside twenty feet, one-trip stock is usually the cleanest answer.

Steel, floor and door hardware

Construction is corrugated weathering steel throughout, the alloy the container industry settled on because it forms a stable surface layer instead of flaking the way plain mild steel does. The floor is 28mm (about 1 1/8 in.) marine-grade plywood laid across steel cross members and rated to take a forklift. Cargo doors at one end are exterior hinged, carry two locking bars each, and close onto rubber gaskets, with a factory-fitted lockbox shielding a padlock from bolt cutters. Forklift pockets in the base rails let a machine of the right capacity pick up and reposition the empty unit.

Usable volume works out near 1,360 cubic feet, against roughly 1,170 in a standard-height 20ft. Internal length runs close to 19ft 4in (5.9 m), internal width around 7ft 8in (2.35 m) and internal height near 8ft 10in (2.69 m), with the door opening a few inches under that height. Those few inches decide rack layouts and whether a tote rolls in on a pallet jack, so measure your tallest item before you order rather than after.

Condition on one-trip stock is close to new: paint intact, floor unstained, seals still soft, doors swinging without a pry bar. Vents in the upper side panels keep air moving, which helps hold condensation down inside a sealed steel box. The CSC plate on the door records the certified maximum gross weight for that individual unit, and door arrangements vary a little between production runs, so we confirm the exact specification, plate details and paint color of the container allocated to your order before it leaves the yard.

Delivery, payment and returns

Delivery is a flat $550 anywhere in the continental United States, quoted at checkout, and most orders arrive 1 to 3 weeks after they are placed. The container comes in on a tilt-bed truck, which sets it down by sliding it off the back as the truck pulls forward. Allow roughly 60ft of straight, firm approach for a 20ft unit and about 14ft of overhead clearance, clear of low branches and power lines. Gravel, compacted dirt and concrete all work. Soft ground after a week of rain does not.

Payment goes through Stripe by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and we also take bank transfer by ACH or wire. We do not collect sales tax. Standard unmodified units carry a 30-day return window with free return shipping; custom and modified builds are excluded. For a second opinion on whether the high cube height earns its keep for what you are storing, or on whether your approach will take the truck, call (334) 294-5043 and we will work through it with you.
